HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy New Year!! May 2010 bring many Muscle bikes my way! And many buyers my dads way!! LOL Well I could use a few as well to help fund my addiction!! Hope to have a great year with my wife and family. I ended the year with a bang, having about 3 or 4 great days with my mom and my dad.

LATE MODEL SCHWINN PANTHER

I took this bike in today as a payment on my race car I sold. I got it and a few others. This is a really nice ride, it has the balloon tires. I am gonna ride this one, check it out and decide which one I want to keep between it and the Thruster by Kent that has been my comfort rider! I really like this one and it matches the one my mom gave me that my wife will be riding most of the time! But like on all others if your interested in this bike, make an offer!

ADDITION!!!!! 70' Stingray Fair Lady

My dad and I went on a bike run today! I had a great time. We went up to a friends Flea Market, by the way you should check that out, not sure of the name, but it's in Morgantown, Ky. We found some really nice bikes, My dad has a couple of rare ones he SHOULD be posting soon and I ended up with a VERY nice Schwinn Stingray Fair Lady!! Thanks partly to my dad. I could not get him to budge on the price, so I decided to wait on it, but on the ride back my dad worked out a deal to trade some stuff for all the bikes. Then when we got home my dad sold me the Schwinn Stingray. It may be a girls bike but I love the color and it is in excellent shape. I believe it is a 70', I know the bars are, I have not matched the code yet! These pics are when I just unloaded the bike and wiped it with a rag, wait til I polish it up with my dremel tool!!!! I can't wait to re-post pics then!!

I NEED A GARAGE!!!!

This is my building, after I used some hooks given to me by Marvin, (my step-dad) to re-organize! It looks crazy in the pic, but it is alot better. My Yellow Stingray is still being painted, but it has it's spot, hanging right in front of the blue Murray F-1 Eliminator, can't wait to get it in it's spot. Did I mention I need a garage or another building!! Just call me the bike hoarder!! But it is a lot of fun!

FOLLOWING IN THE FOOTSTEPS

This is Talan my youngest son on his new bigwheel I got him at Goodwill. He is not big enough for a bike yet but already loves them. In this pic he thinks he is cool wearing Big Brother Karston's baseball helmet! He put that on all by his self and rode all over the house when I first brought the Bigwheel home!

CHECK THIS OUT!!!

I got this on Ebay, it looks almost just like my Stingray. This vinyl sticker has got a lot of attention the couple of days I have had it on. I am gonna try to add the blog site on there. Love this and had to show it off on here!!

SMALL SCHWINN STINGRAY CHOPPER

I got this bike from my mom's Consignment Shop "Dianne's Second Chance" in Franklin. I have it put up right now, with plans of putting training wheels on it for my youngest son in a year or two. It is missing the handle bar grips, and has a very small tear on the seat, but otherwise looks and rides good. I would sell this bike for $30.00

TOP GUN

Here we go with another favorite bike story of mine from my childhood. My mom found out she was pregnant with my sister Stephanie through a bike wreck of mine. Me and a group of friends we riding in a formation! We were fighter planes and I was Maverick!! We were talking back and forth like we were on the radios. Since I was Maverick I was out front leading the pack. Well one of the times I looked back to talk I hit a small rock in the road that made me loose control of the front wheel. I tried to correct myself and over corrected turning the wheel completely sideways. This threw me over the bars head first at full speed. I slid about 10 feet on my chin! Next thing I remember was some neighbors carrying me home screaming. My mom called someone and then we were at the hospital. I heard them say I had to get stitches and started freaking out. Anyway when they gave me the numbing shot, my mom said the skin just fell to the sides and you could see all inside. She passed out, while they were tending to her they found out she was pregnant!! WOW what a surprise! That was the first and only time I needed stitches. I have been lucky I guess!

STORY ABOUT MY WIFE MARAGRET'S TRICYCLE

I know, this is not a bicycle.  It is however in the cycle family.  This little tricycle has a real good story behind it.  It belongs to my wife Margaret.  And now from her.  Hi, I'm Margaret "Owens" Turner.  I was born in 1952.  My parents bought me this tricycle when I was a little girl.  I was probably five or younger.  We lived on a little hill on a dead end street, so I rode it up and down the blacktop road until I wore the tires off.  I kept riding it on the rims until the front rim broke.  My Dad wired it back together and I rode it until I guess I was too big.  We didn't have a lot of money, but we had plenty of love.

THIS BIKE BELONGS TO MY WIFE MARGARET

Hello Bike enthusiast.  This bike shown here belongs to my wife.  It is not for sale.  My son and I have chose it for our blog title photo.  I thought it would be good to tell you a little about it.  My wife was born in 1952 and this bike was hers as a child.  And now here is the story told by her.  By Margaret Turner - Hello bike collectors.  I am Odell's wife and I have a story for you.  This bike was bought for me in early 1960's.  I'm not real sure what exact year.  My Aunt and Grandmother live together and my Grandmother was in a wheelchair.  During the summer while school was out, I stayed with my Grandmother while my Aunt was at work.  They bought me this bike for sitting with her.  It came from Dave Faxon's Western Auto Store in Bowling Green, KY.  which was downtown on the square.  This store is no longer in business.  As a matter of fact their is not even a Western Auto Store in Bowling Green.  As a little girl, I was very proud of this bike.

TRYING OUT MY DREMEL TOOL

I am trying out my new Dremel tool on a old sissy bar. Looks like it will still be lots of work on heavy rust, but this is gonna be awesome on my nice bikes to shine up and polish the chrome! Put a little Turtle Wax on there and buff it with my Dremel and watch it shine! I was told to try Evaporust , gotta get some of that. If anyone has any suggestions please pass them along, on how to combat that hard rust!

FOR SALE SCHWINN WORLD TOURIST BICYCLE

I have this bike listed for $150.00 but don't be afraid to make me an offer.  All I will do if it is a price I can't sell for is tell you sorry "No can do" with no hard feelings.  I do this as a hobby and for the fun of it.  My son and I but love bikes.  We do this together and you can call or email either one of us.  My son, Jason knows more about most bikes than I do.  Thanks for browsing our site.  Please bookmark us and look daily.

HELP FOR OUR NEW FREIND

Met a guy through here that is looking for a 16x1.75 Carlisle front tire in usable condition for a 69' Murray F5. If anyone sees this that has this contact me, we may be able to help each other out! Thanks for your help!!

EBAY PURCHASE

I just bought my first shipped bike on Ebay. It is a purple and white Schwinn Chic(stingray). I bought it because I think I want to customize it, but I guess it depends on the actual shape of it when I get it. I love the rush of making an Ebay purchase, but I did pay more than I would have paid in person for it, but still got a really good deal as long as it gets shipped now.

BIKES FOR SALE

Just in case anyone was wondering, all my bikes have a price. I may not be trying to sell some and you may not want to pay my price, but don't be scared to ask if you see something your interested in! I put prices on the ones that I am trying to sale and the others are my personal collection with the price I am talking about. Enjoy the site and post to let us know what you think.

ANOTHER CHILDHOOD MEMORY

Growing up I lived in a trailer park where there were plenty of other kids. I would always make my mom so mad at me, when I would trade my new gifts for the other kids old bikes. I never had just one bike. Like I remember getting a scooter, the kind that you push like a skate board.I had begged and begged for it. I think I had it a week or two when I traded it for two old bikes. My mom about killed me. I loved taking them apart and switching parts from one to another. We also got very creative with the things we did on our bikes. Once we had a demolition derby in a huge muddy area. It was a lot of fun until my shoe string got wrapped around the pedal and I fell over in the mud with my foot all twisted up against the pedal, and my cousin Steven and the others just laughed! I was ready to kill them! But my love for bikes has been strong as long as I can remember, just ask my dad that used to get me one every year or two for Christmas. I remember him getting me several but one stands out. The Sigma it was a light grey bike with white tires and plastic white discs that covers the spokes! I loved that bike!

54' SCHWINN SPITFIRE (project)(SOLD)

This is a project of mine that is on the back burner, with the Stingray taking my time and money at the time. It is an early 50's Schwinn Spitfire. It needs lots of TLC!! It has lots of potential. I am selling this bike as is for $50.00. So you can make it your project! But if I start on it you may not want it and I may not sale it! I am not planning on keeping it original. I am gonna Rat Rod it out if I still have it this summer, flat black and white, red rims, white wall tires and ape hangers! But before I mess it up in someones eyes contact me if your interested in buying this bike$50.00 firm. Found out from a site recommended by one of our new freinds met on here, that this is a 54'. Thanks Kenny for your help! *********SOLD*********

Late MODEL SCHWINN CRUISER SS

This is the bike my mom gave me for Christmas. It is the balloon tire style with the very swelled tires. Rides very smooth! It is the girls frame, but I will definitely share this one with my wife! Love the colors! Thanks MOM!!

OLD RALEIGH SPORT 3 SPEED

This is the vintage bike that my dad gave me for Christmas. The year is unknown right now. My guess is 60's or 70's. The detail on this bike is amazing! I love the chrome tip on the front fender and the gold pinstriping. This bike has a very small amount of rust, a little cleaning and it will look GREAT!! It has the old style internal 3-speed! Thanks DAD!!
